The OS I am using is Windows 8.1
This is my first launch of the application, after purchase of Essential. It sits indefinitely at the Checking For Updates part.
I have already tried changing firewall settings, the problem still reproduces. Same experience running as Administrator.
The link on support shows the server should be up, and I am not seeing any kind of exception being thrown to indicate there is a problem with the handshake. Is there any settings/config file where I can turn off updates? I couldn't find one and the support FAQ assumes I can launch the program successfully to turn them off in the UI.
