While the animated GIF in Spine Tips might have been too fast to understand clearly, for this to work properly, it requires that each attachment belonging to the skin being duplicated has a subfolder name as its attachment name. The following is an example of a case where it works:
In the example above, before duplicating the spineboy
skin, the name of each attachment contains 'spineboy/', matching the skin name.
If you duplicate the skin with Rename attachments
checked in this state, the subfolder names for each attachment will be replaced with the new skin name. In my video, I hadn't actually prepared the corresponding images beforehand, so after duplicating the skin, each attachment changed to an orange box labeled “Missing.” However, looking at the Tree view, you can see that the part that was originally 'spineboy/' has been replaced with 'spinegirl/'. Therefore, if you had actually prepared the corresponding images under a subfolder named “spinegirl,” the image placement for that skin would be complete at this point.
