ShigureTokisaki We’re sorry to hear you’re experiencing connection issues.
Once activated, Spine can be used offline for a certain period of time, but after a certain period of time, you will need to connect to the license server again for authentication. Therefore, if you can reconnect to the license server, you will be able to use Spine offline again.
According to the logs you provided, it looks like your network is blocking access to our server. This is likely due to a security setting that prevents connections to servers using self-signed certificates.
The usapi, euapi, and jpapi URLs are used by the Spine editor for communication. While they do use HTTPS, accessing them directly in a browser will always result in a 403 Forbidden error. This is expected because these URLs require a self-signed certificate, which browsers do not recognize—only the Spine desktop software does.
Unlike browsers, Spine cannot use standard HTTPS certificates, as those expire annually and require frequent renewal. Browsers handle this automatically with updates, but we want to avoid forcing users to update their Spine installation every year. Some networks block all HTTPS traffic that relies on self-signed certificates, which can prevent Spine from connecting. While this restriction makes sense for browsers, it can interfere with Spine’s functionality.
If your network has such a restriction, please try whitelisting the following URLs in your network settings:
- usapi.esotericsoftware.com
- euapi.esotericsoftware.com
- jpapi.esotericsoftware.com
