Spine used to only have Translate
timelines, without the ability to separate them. That has some benefits, so it's the default. Fewer timelines means fewer rows in the graph and dopesheet, less clutter for the animator. Also fewer timelines at runtime is slightly more efficient, but that effect is very slight, so you shouldn't generally keep them combined for performance reasons. It's more about the cumulative number of timelines, since if all translate/scale/shear timelines were separated needlessly it would double the total number.
